I Join in Prayer with Others in Peace

Today in my prayers, I bless people the world over. Because we are from many different lands and traditions, we may differ from one another in varying ways, yet we have something sacred in common. We are all children of God.

Because I do acknowledge our sacred kinship, I can and do envision a world filled with love. People of all nations are joining together to live and work in peace and joy. It’s true; world peace can be a reality when people live their lives from an attitude of love and acceptance.

Giving peace a chance to flourish in every area of the world community, we join together in a spiritual oneness of all humankind. The result of person after person joining in prayer with other peace seekers around the world is a world of peace.

I am calm, peaceful and relaxed in mind, body and soul.

The Will of God

‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.’   When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.  Concentrate on this sentence… ‘The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

What is Cold?

A young boy comes to the side of a brook and sees an old man bathing in it. The brook is high in the mountains, near the snow line. The boy asks the old man Is the water cold?. The old man does not answer and continues to shower himself with buckets of water.

The boy asks the old man again, Is the water cold?, —Is it very cold, Sir? The old man does not answer, but he does smile and acknowledge that the boy is there.

The old man finally comes out of the brook to dry himself off. The boy asks the old man again, Is the water cold, Sir? . The old man says nothing but takes his bucket over to the brook, fills it with water and douses the boy with the water.

The boy is startled for a moment and then asks the old man, Why did you do that, Sir?. The old man answers. How can I tell you what cold is to you, cold can not be described, it must be experienced.

Many things in life cannot be described to another, they must be experienced. Sobriety is but one more example. Many people have tried to describe sobriety to the newcomer in many different ways but become frustrated when the newcomer does not understand. Sobriety is something that must be experienced.

In My Quite Talks with Him, I Discover True Peace

Where do I go to receive answers to the questions on my mind or to discuss my innermost concerns? The answer lies within the quiet sanctuary of my soul, for there I commune with Him.

As I speak, He listens. Without condemning me, He listens to my thoughts and concerns. I know that He is aware of all that I have experienced and understands how I feel, but being able to voice my thoughts fills me with an immediate sense of peace.

As I listen, He speaks to me. There is a sacred trust between my Higher Power and me-a bond that can never be broken. As I listen to the guidance I receive from Him, I relax and feel divine love assuring me of what I am to do. In my quiet talks with Him, I experience the presence of Him in every Fiber of my being.
