Miracle Cure —Neale Donald Walsch

“Gratitude is the miracle cure for every moment of dis-ease. It is the fastest way to dissolve anxiety, to heal disappointment, to replace negativity with positivity. It is the shortest route from a dead-end back to The Path. It is the connecting energy to God.”

—Neale Donald Walsch
from Happier Than God

The next time you come up against a difficulty of any kind instead of resisting it, try being thankful for its presence in your life. This simple attitude of gratitude can transform any circumstance in a heartbeat, turning every curse into a blessing and every disappointment into joy. An expression of sincere gratitude is, as Walsch puts it, like a “Global Positioning Satellite for the brain.” It immediately brings us back on track to our Good.

May you always be willing to say “Thank you.”

One Choice —Oprah Winfrey

“Right now you are one choice away from a new beginning – one that leads you toward becoming the fullest human being you can be.”

—Oprah Winfrey

In every moment we get to choose. We get to choose whether to move forward or stand still; whether to speak out in anger or reach out in peace; whether to hold tight to misery or to let our pain go; whether to give our love or express our hatred. These are not choices made for us but choices we consciously or unconsciously make minute by minute, day by day. And it is by choices such as these that we form our lives.

May you always recognize your power of choice.

“Wake up”

“Wake up! If you knew for certain you had a terminal illness — if you had little time left to live — you would waste precious little of it! Well, I’m telling you…you do have a terminal illness. It’s called birth. You don’t have more than a few years left. No one does. So be happy now, without reason — or you will never be at all.”

—Dan Millman

So many of us keep postponing happiness until conditions are right. We’ll start living the good life, we tell ourselves, when we’re making the good money, or we’ve lost that fifty extra pounds, or we’ve kissed that dead-end job goodbye. We keep putting off truly living and the happiness it offers until there are precious few days left and then we look back on a life filled with wouldas, shouldas and couldas and wonder what happened. When you stop and think about it, that’s a silly way to live, isn’t it?

May you always be willing to live the good life today.

Middle of the Road — Brendan Francis

“Some persons are very decisive when it comes to avoiding decisions.”

—Brendan Francis

Indecision tends to keep us stuck in the middle of a road going nowhere. Fortunately to get back on track, we need only to decide to decide, trusting that whatever our decision might be, it will take us exactly where we need to be.

One way or another, may you always be willing to decide.

Any Excuse Will Do

“I thank Thee first because I was never robbed before; second, because although they took my purse they did not take my life; third, because although they took my all, it was not much; and fourth because it was I who was robbed, and not I who robbed.”

—Matthew Henry
English clergyman, 1662-1714

We can always find reason to express gratitude and as we express it, more reasons for its expression arise. In the cultivation of a grateful heart, any excuse will do.

May you always find reason to be grateful.
