Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her mother the next morning and then said, “This is for you, Momma.”

The mother was embarrassed by her earlier over reaction, but her anger flared again when she opened the box and found it was empty. She spoke to her daughter in a harsh manner.

“Don’t you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there’s supposed to be something inside the package?”

She had tears in her eyes and said, “Oh, Momma, it’s not empty! I blew kisses into it until it was full.”

The mother was crushed. She fell on her knees and put her arms around her little girl, and she begged her forgiveness for her thoughtless anger.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it is told that the mother kept that gold box by her bed for all the years of her life.

Whenever she was discouraged or faced difficult problems she would open the box and take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us, as human beings, have been given a Golden box filled with love and kisses from our children, family, friends and GOD. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

My life is a journey of discovery, ever learning more; about myself, about my spirituality, about my very being. Throughout my life I have and will continue to experience situations that confront me and opportunities that lie before me.

I give blessing for my life’s experiences. For these experiences are a proving field that strengthens my spirituality. I am learning more and more of what I am capable of. With Him, I am capable of achieving life, love and wisdom.

The day ahead of me is filled with choices-choices I will make for myself and for those who are in my care. And each choice will have an impact-sometimes major, sometimes minor-on how my day and my life are going.

Yet I don’t worry about the decisions I made because I make them in cooperation with my Higher Power. During my prayer times, You give me the wisdom and guidance I need and points the way to my highest good.

So I trust and ask You to help me make my choices-from which foods to eat to what goals to set for myself and my family. With You, my choices are based on sound judgment and divine wisdom, so how can I ever go wrong?

If I were to doubt that I have the strength to be free of a habit, I would be giving the power of my thoughts over to doubt rather than to freedom. As incredible as it may have seemed, I now realize that my own thoughts can keep me from experiencing true freedom.

The good news is this: I am giving the power of my formative thoughts over to what God can do through me. I am never in any situation alone; the spirit of God within me strengthens me so that I can overcome any obstacle. I am free!

My thoughts help shape my experiences. The spirit of God within enables me to achieve goals far beyond what I had ever hoped to achieve. God is expressing strength and wisdom through me. I accept what God ,gives me, and I live my freedom now.

An ending that is not of my choosing, a relationship, a job, or a way of life, can be a shock. And even though I myself have made the decision for a change, I may still have much to work through.

I will help myself and those who are dear to me by knowing that every ending is the introduction to a new beginning. Although I may feel anxious about a change, I don’t let such a feeling rob me of the belief that I can do whatever I need to do in my new beginning.

I believe in more than myself, I believe in the spirit of Him that is moving in and through me, providing me with the wisdom and strength I need.
