In my spiritual growth, I have learned a language of the heart. I know that at the core of my being when I receive a “yes” to some plan or a “no” concerning some project, its time to listen for His divine direction.

I am alert to the spirit of Him within me. When I feel a “no” arising from the depths of my being I know it is time to listen carefully for more direction. I listen closely for His divine plan.

I may feel the urging of His spirit as a “yes” about something of importance to me. Filtering out the clamor of my own doubts and the doubts of others, I let nothing interfere with the gentle message He is whispering.

Have you ever noticed that when you carry an empty lidded box into a sunlit room and take the lid off, even though the box is essentially filled with darkness, nothing much happens? But take a box filled with light into a darkened room, and the darkness instantly flees. That’s because light dissolves darkness, not the other way around. When we choose to recognize divine order and purpose are everywhere, even in those situations and circumstances we do not understand, we become much needed bearers of light, bringing a dawning to solutions, rather than joining those who would remind us that a dark night of problems has come.

May you always be willing to dissolve the darkness with your light.

When my courage and energy seem to be in short supply, this is the time I need to be sensitive to the gentlest of sounds and thoughts and feelings.

The balmy breeze, not the howling wind, refreshes me. The peaceful thoughts I think are the ones that calm me and allow me to function best. The soft voice of encouragement I hear is His message of hope being whispered to me. And that whisper has the power of the Almighty behind it.

Out of those tender thoughts, feelings, sounds, and messages, I gain new purpose in living. I am the person I truly desire to be. He is gentle with me, and I am gentle with others. It is the power of the Almighty that I hear, touch, and feel as gentleness in my daily life.
