I am a Member of a Universal Family

My family is such an important part of who I am, yet a family is so much more than the people I call “mother,” “father,” “sister,” and “brother.”

Being part of a family is what makes me feel as if I am a part of something far greater than I could ever be on my own. It is knowing that I will be accepted and loved no matter how I look or sound.

I am an important member of a universal family of love. So no matter where I might go, I am surrounded by the love and support of my spiritual family.

My family reaches into every corner of the globe, so I am not afraid of being in new or unfamiliar places. Rather, I am comforted in knowing that I am always with people of kindred spirit because I am a member of a universal family of love.

Nothing external has any power over me. My inner strength is a mighty fortress.

I Join in Prayer with Others in Peace

Today in my prayers, I bless people the world over. Because we are from many different lands and traditions, we may differ from one another in varying ways, yet we have something sacred in common. We are all children of God.

Because I do acknowledge our sacred kinship, I can and do envision a world filled with love. People of all nations are joining together to live and work in peace and joy. It’s true; world peace can be a reality when people live their lives from an attitude of love and acceptance.

Giving peace a chance to flourish in every area of the world community, we join together in a spiritual oneness of all humankind. The result of person after person joining in prayer with other peace seekers around the world is a world of peace.

I am calm, peaceful and relaxed in mind, body and soul.

The Will of God

‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.’   When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.  Concentrate on this sentence… ‘The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

What is Cold?

A young boy comes to the side of a brook and sees an old man bathing in it. The brook is high in the mountains, near the snow line. The boy asks the old man Is the water cold?. The old man does not answer and continues to shower himself with buckets of water.

The boy asks the old man again, Is the water cold?, —Is it very cold, Sir? The old man does not answer, but he does smile and acknowledge that the boy is there.

The old man finally comes out of the brook to dry himself off. The boy asks the old man again, Is the water cold, Sir? . The old man says nothing but takes his bucket over to the brook, fills it with water and douses the boy with the water.

The boy is startled for a moment and then asks the old man, Why did you do that, Sir?. The old man answers. How can I tell you what cold is to you, cold can not be described, it must be experienced.

Many things in life cannot be described to another, they must be experienced. Sobriety is but one more example. Many people have tried to describe sobriety to the newcomer in many different ways but become frustrated when the newcomer does not understand. Sobriety is something that must be experienced.
